ABOUT ME

Welcome! I am Faith, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who provides therapy for those looking to improve their daily lives. At the core of my practice is an empathic and nonjudgmental therapeutic alliance built on honesty, openness and a little bit of humor.  My clients and colleagues have described me as engaging, warm and goal-oriented.

Perinatal therapeutic care is a particular passion of mine. Becoming a parent is a profound shift that brings immense joy as well as a reorganization of one’s home, relationship and identity. It is common for parents to experience complete emotional overwhelm that includes fear, guilt, resentment and lowered self-esteem among other things. I am well trained in postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety as well as other perinatal disorders.

I also work with young adults and adults who are experiencing heightened anxiety, depression, relational issues, school- or work-related challenges, family conflict, and life transitions. My approach focuses on developing coping skills to deal with life’s stressors, exploring our internal resources and strengths, refining our communication and fostering deeper insight and understanding of oneself.

With experience in both individual and group therapy, I am skilled in a variety of interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness and Motivational Interviewing. Each client’s goals guide which approach can best serve their unique needs.

After earning my master’s degree in social work from Columbia University, I trained and practiced in New York, Chicago and San Francisco before relocating my family back to the Chicago land area. Prior to starting my practice, I worked in a variety of settings including partial hospitalization programming, intensive outpatient programming, group practice, community health center and high school counseling.
